5th Wedding Anniversary!

Yesterday was my our 5th Wedding Anniversary! And I was looking through our wedding pictures and just marvelling at how young and carefree we looked! It's been 5 years to the day!

Our wedding was simple and inexpensive. But it was the most beautiful day...filled with laughter, joy and love!

A fairytale wedding!

The funniest thing was that my husband forgot to set the correct date on our 'then' digital camera....and therefore most of our pictures have the date as the 19th instead of the 20th!!! We laughed so hard when we printed the photos!

5 years!!!! wow!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello all you lovely people... I cannot believe its almost Thanksgiving!

So in order to get a head start on the day, I decided to make a chalkboard and a wreath, added a few embellishments and here we are a chalkboard wreath in my kitchen.

There are so many things to be thankful for...

I'm thankful for having a loving family...

I'm thankful for amazing friends...close, faraway and on blogland...

I'm thankful for our lovely and comfortable home...

I'm thankful for the love, kindness and understanding that people show us everyday...

I'm thankful for new creative inspirations everyday...

I'm thankful for for the strength of will that God gives me to follow my dreams everyday...

There are so many people that I need to give thanks to each and every day of my life for loving, supporting and inspiring me...

Most importantly I'm thankful for my Amazing Mom...who inspires me everyday to hitch my wagon to a star and ensures that I never give up on my dreams!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!

Thank you for reading my blog, following my blog and my musings and leaving such beautiful thoughts and comments that make me smile!

Thank you all!

Lots of love

Vintage Ship DIY!

I hope you all are having a lovely week! Lots of wonderful things are happening here..a very close friend of ours is getting married in Dubai end of this year and we are going! I am so excited about the wedding and also visiting Dubai and guess what after Dubai we are off to France and Italy for our extremely delayed honeymoon! 5 years too late but then again better late than never!!!
More on that later...for now I want to show you the little ship that I built.

For a long time I have been gazing longingly at vintage ships at nautical themed window dressings.

So here's how it went...each piece was separately collected and then put together. A piece of driftwood, bamboo sticks, twine and burlap.

The difficult part was to stick the bamboo into the wooden base and then making it stand upright was another challenge.

In the end, the result is worth all the effort!

What do you think?

Added one of my clay hearts as embellishment.

My DIY shabby chic French Nordic Vintage ship!

So there's my faux vintage ship on my real vintage chippy ladder.

I feel like jumping into my little ship and sailing off to France now!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Christmas Clay Gift Tags

Last year for Christmas I had made a bunch of clay tags to hang on the tree when I ran out of ornaments. This year I saw so many tags in the shops and on Etsy. So I decided to take mine out of storage and also make a few fresh ones.

That's on last year's tree.  I had a bunch of different ones...stars, hearts, ovals, squares all with lovely words stamped on and they looked adorable!

That was the wreath on our front door last year and it will be back on this year again!

So there you have it...Christmas Clay Gift Tag Collection. They are available on my Etsy and MadeIt stores. A set of 3 for $6.50 AUD. They are re-usable and Eco-Friendly! And I will be making some more for this year's tree!
