6 Design Tips to Get Your Living Room Looking 'Springworthy'!

Even though some days feel quite chilly, Spring has certainly sprung in the southern hemisphere. And we couldn't be happier! Most of us spend a lot of time in our living rooms, either just relaxing with a good book or watching television or entertaining friends and family. Therefore, this is the perfect time to refresh and reinvigorate your living room decor with our six easy design tips and get spring ready!

Rearrange the Furniture
It's surprising how this simple task completely changes the look and overall feel of the room and creates a fresh spring vibe.

Change Textiles & Rugs
Pale pastels or bold vibrant colours, the choice is yours, however changing the cushion covers and especially the rug will freshen up the room instantly. This is a great way to refresh your living room decor. Have a look at these rugs and runners here. I love these gorgeous natural jute, patterned rugs to colour coordinate or colour contrast and to add that extra oomph to the living room this spring season.

Add Some Art
Artwork can really liven up any space and adding a few new pieces or changing it around can update and enhance your wall decor and of course the overall design of the living room. Replacing the picture frames is also an easy way to update wall decor. For an easy and effective way, DIY a standout vintage scroll frame following this tutorial here to create an interesting focal point or why not spray paint the frames?

Paint A Wall
Paint a wall! Pick a fresh shade and paint a wall. Nothing shouts SPRING louder than a coat of fresh paint! You can be on trend by taking your colour inspirations from our earlier post on Pantone's Colour Forecast for 2017.

Let the light In
Change your window dressing. Gone are the dark winter days so change those heavy curtains for lighter blinds and sheers and really make use of all that gorgeous warm natural sunlight.

Add Some Greenery
Spring is all about greenery and adding a plant or two in pretty pots or even some fresh flowers in a vase helps to bring the outdoors in and connect with nature. Adding plants to your interiors creates a beautiful contrast and softens the overall look. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, they also create a positive vibe and have an uplifting effect on your mood and decor.
