The new collection will feature lighting, soft furnishings, ceramics, accessories and furniture inspired by traditional Indonesian handicrafts made using natural fibres.

JASSA will showcase organic materials such as seagrass, water hyacinth, bent bamboo, woven rattan and traditional and colourful batik textiles.
Currently, the collection has made it to the prototype stage from where on it will move to mass production with a focus on efficiency in production techniques as all of IKEA's other products. The concept will be to provide a mass produced collection that will look and feel completely handmade and bespoke.
With limited edition collections such as VÄLBALANS a unique handmade ceramics and textiles range created by artisans based in the Doi Tung area of Thailand, SVÄRTAN featuring patterns inspired from urban Indian landscapes and JASSA inspired by traditional Indonesian craft techniques in the pipeline, there is a distinct shift from the conventional Scandinavian designs that the Swedish furniture giant IKEA is famous for. Exciting times ahead!
